Manahatta Newcastle: cocktails, small plates, and bottomless brunch you’ll love

Manahatta has been one of our go to places since it opened and if you follow me on Instagram – you’d have seen this place pop up on my feed A LOT! (You can read about my previous visits here).

It has been one of my favourite places to go for food and drinks in town, and we’ve been more times than I can count, including casual date nights, catch ups with friends, and NYE celebrations. Most recently, we visited for my birthday bottomless (always a good time), but this time we were back to check out the new menu—because when it comes to cocktails and casual dining, Manahatta never misses.

Cocktails (and mocktails) you need to try
Let’s start with the drinks because of course we had a round of cocktails. These were some of the highlights:
- Mon Chéri – Patrón Silver tequila, cherry, vanilla, citrus, raspberry. This was sweet and smooth with a real grown-up cherry twist.
- Pineapple Marg – A tropical mix of Patrón Silver, pineapple, coconut and lime. If you love a beachy drink, this is it.
- Grand Bouquet – Hendrick’s Grand Cabaret with strawberry and rose—floral, elegant, and surprisingly strong!

- Spicy Marg – El Jimador reposado, Ancho Reyes, and yuzu… it brings the heat but in the best way.
- Strawberry and Rhubarb Cooler – Refreshing mocktail with a tart kick from the rhubarb.
- Ginger Spritz – Zesty mocktail with a gingery bite, made with 0% Tanqueray Sevilla.

- Punchy Cucumber – Light and herbal mocktail with cucumber, rosemary, and a little zing from yuzu.
- Watermelon Baller – This one’s fruity and fun with watermelon, lychee, and cranberry. Gorgeous mocktail.

Tapas style small plates we went for:
- Great as starters, sides, or to share tapas-style if you’re not committing to mains:
- Frickles – Deep fried pickles with mustard mayo. Always a yes.
- Salt & Pepper Squid – Light, crispy, and perfectly seasoned.
- Sticky Chicken Bites – Sweet, spicy, and addictive with a ranch dip on the side.
- Truffle & Parmesan Waffle Fries – Rich and so moreish, these are great to share… or not.

Mains you NEED TO try
- Flat Iron Steak – Served with waffle fries and a mini Caesar salad. This one’s part of their STEAK NIGHT offer: just £9.99 from Sunday–Friday from 4pm. Absolute steal.

- Send Noods – Crispy sticky beef on stir-fried noodles with pak choi, miso sauce, garlic, chilli, and sesame. Comfort food with a kick. You can also go vegan with crispy Oumph!

- Steak Frites – Proper 7oz rump steak, garlic mushrooms, onion rings, and peppercorn sauce over house fries. A full-on meal. We’ve had it here before a few times and it is ALWAYS a good shout.

- Deluxe Burger – Classic beef burger with all the trimmings. You can add cheese or pancetta, or go vegan with a meat-free patty and vegan mayo. I opted for the veggie option and it was lovely.

New menu – is it worth the hype?
Manahatta always delivers on atmosphere, whether you’re there for brunch, dinner, or just drinks. The cocktail menu is creative (with loads of tequila – I say yes to this!!), the small plates are perfect for sharing, and the mains offer something for everyone.
We’ll definitely be heading back for that Steak Night deal!
