Is lymphatic drainage and sculpting facial worth the hype? My experience.
I had this treatment at Pelle by Nicolle recently, and a few days on, my skin still feels glowing and super soft.
I opted for a sculpting facial as I’ve been using Gua Sha at home with some positive results, so I wanted to experience a professional facial that focuses on this – and maybe pick up some tips on how to use the tool better at home too.
And I was over the moon with the results!
Lymphatic drainage and sculpting facial – step by step
Here’s a full step by step of the lymphatic drainage and sculpting facial offered by at Pelle by Nicolle —perfect if you’re curious about what’s involved or looking to book one yourself!
- Cleanse with cleansing balm – Nicolle uses the Elemis balm, and if you’ve ever used it before, you’ll know there just isn’t anything better than this. It’s like a mini aromatherapy moment to start the facial. I use it at home as the first step of my cleansing routine, and I love this product.
- Remove with hot mitts – Warm (and super soft) mitts were used to remove the balm.
- Brush with soft brushes – used to gently stimulate the skin, open up lymph nodes, and get circulation going.
- Second cleanse with foaming cleanser – A light, fresh scented foam left my skin feeling super clean without any tightness.
- Remove with green tea – A unique step – my skin was cleansed with green tea which felt really calming. I will be introducing green tea to my skincare routine after this visit.
- Lymphatic drainage massage (hands) – This was one of my favourite parts. The hands-on massage was deeply relaxing and really helped to reduce puffiness from my face. I could have easily fallen asleep at this point!
- Sculpting techniques (hands) – These movements were a little firmer and more targeted—like a mini workout for my face, but still totally relaxing.
- Gua Sha – The cool stone used to help define and lift, felt amazing on my face.
- Jade roller – Cooling and soothing
- Second round of Gua Sha – We went back in for more sculpting with the Gua Sha to really enhance the lifting effect.
- Closing massage – A gentle, calming massage to let the skin settle.
- Toner – Applied to rebalance the skin after all the massage work.
- LED mask – This felt surprisingly relaxing, and it’s perfect for boosting glow and promoting collagen from within. Nicole opted for the blue light for me to further boost the lymphatic drainage effect.
- Jelly mask with ice globes –There is a lot of masks to choose from and you also have an option of a sheet mask. Nicole used a 24k gold jelly mask (amazing for collagen and skin rejuvenation). Ice globes were used over the top to cool, soothe and depuff. It felt absolutely divine.
- Toner (again) – To refresh and prepare my skin for the final steps.
- Ice globes (again) – A second round for that spa-like, cooling sensation—my skin loved it.
- Moisturiser – Rich but lightweight, this sealed in all the goodness from the facial.
- SPF – The essential final step to protect my now glowing skin (a step I never skip – even on the dullest day, SPF is a non-negotiable for me, and the one Nicolle uses is super light and non-greasy).

What I loved about the treatment
- Super relaxing – you will struggle not to have a little snooze!
- Some steps can be customised – for example, you get to choose which mask you prefer depending on your skin needs and concerns.
- Nicolle makes you feel welcome and relaxed, she is friendly and easy to chat to which makes the visit even nicer.
- The results! My skin still feels refreshed and sculpted. There’s a visible difference in how defined my face looks, and I can’t get over how soft and smooth my skin is.
- Every single product used smelt incredible—it honestly turned the whole experience into the most luxurious hour of pampering.
