What is Go Quest Adventures?
Go Quest is an interactive walking tour where you explore a chosen city in a unique way solving puzzles and completing challenges. Spoiler – it is quite fun!
We recently completed the Go Quest Newcastle adventure—mixing cheeky trivia with urban exploration, learning why Geordies are called Geordies all while spending an afternoon with our friends.
I think this adventure is the perfect friends’ activity and one of the best ways to be a tourist in your own city. I am surprised how much I actually enjoyed it!

Why we enjoyed Go Quest Newcastle?
- Quirky facts & trivia: Not boring facts—but fun trivia that you actually want to know.
- Urban treasure hunt & hidden city secrets: Uncover surprising facts about Newcastle (or whichever city you choose).
- Perfect for groups: Spend time with your friends wandering around your city, doing puzzles and sharing “Aha!” moments.
- Interactive adventure: The challenges were just right to keep us interested and engaged. We even did some (VERY SIMPLE) maths.
- Tourist in your own city: Explore Newcastle like a true tourist – it felt like a mini city break. It did help that it was a lovely day and blue skies – Newcastle had a real buzz that day, as it was the first day of nice weather this year!

Would we do it again?
Definitely! Go Quest is a must-try for anyone looking for a unique, interactive adventure either in your own city, or in a new city you want to learn more about, but in a fun way.
We obviously wouldn’t repeat the Newcastle quest again, but I would definitely do one in a different city!

At the time of writing this (24 Feb 2025) there were 28 cities available on their website to do Go Quest, so you’ll definitely find a spot near you!

Tips for your Quest
- If you really love the idea and want to have a customised Quest created just for you (team building or a special occasion), they can do that for you too, you just need to contact them.
- You can get 20% off your first Quest when you sign up for their newsletter.

- How do I purchase a Quest? You can buy it from the Go Quest Adventures website. Once purchased, you will be sent an email with all the information to download the app, your starting location and how to add players to your team.
- Each Quest will have a description of the city, sights you might see, approximate playing times and distance you will travel.

- Once you buy your Quest, you can play anytime you want! We purchased it in November and didn’t play until February because we wanted to wait for nicer weather. The code doesn’t expire until you redeem it on the app, so there’s no pressure.
- How much does it cost? Each Quest has a flat rate of £28.95 for a group of 1-5 players. Shorter Quests may have a lower cost. Additional costs may include transport costs (bus or train fares in some locations). All additional costs are detailed on the Quest page before you buy
- If you don’t finish your Quest in one go, you can come back to it, even if it’s the next day, next week, or next year
- Bring pen and paper to work out clues and puzzles.
- Comfortable walking shoes are a must – this is a walking tour.
