Dream Burger, 90-92 Clayton Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE1 5PG
I was pretty excited to try burger spot in Newcastle when it first opened, and since our first visit just over a year ago, it remained firmly on our list of top burger places in town. We have been enough times to try pretty much everything on the menu, and by now have our firm favourites.
Our top savoury picks
- NY burger – we always get this burger (and make it a double), it is such a classic and it never disappoints. If you haven’t been yet – I’d definitely start with this one.

- Fiery Angus burger – another classic that is done so well. It is huge and delicious, absolutely mouth-wateringly good.

- Boneless tenders – these are unlike any others in the area. They are absolutely huge so you really get great value for money. You can choose the sauce that they come coated in (and I mean they are FULLY coated) and we always go for the spiciest on the menu. They are tender and delicious.

- Wings – no explanation needed; they are super flavoursome, and as creamy/mild or spicy as you make them by choosing the sauce you want with them.

- Donner sizzler – this is as good as it sounds. If you like donner, you don’t want to miss this one. A creative, and super tasty combo.
- Halloumi burger – a veggie option and so delish; you can double up on the halloumi (which, of course, I always do); it is super moreish and so, so delicious. Comes with a slightly sweet sauce which melts in your mouth.

- Spicy fries – these complement the sweet-ish halloumi burger so well. They say spicy and they really are the perfect amount of spicy in my opinion. If you like your food to have a bit of a kick – these will not disappoint.
- Beef fries – if you like burgers (I mean, who doesn’t), go for their beef fries, they are just like a burger in a fries version with their stunning burger sauce, and absolutely LOADED with toppings. Even though the taste is super familiar in a comforting kind of way, it is one of a kind dish; they just do it incredibly well here.

- American nacho cheese fries – just as good but with a different flavour profile, if you fancy something with a little Latino vibe. 10/10.
Whichever burger or fries you go for – the portions are great and we always have to take a box home because it is a lot of food to finish in one sitting. It’s definitely one of the places you want to go feeling hungry.
And if you like a little side, I would not skip their:
- Mozzarella sticks
- Onion rings
- Chilli cheesy bites

All moreish, perfect for sharing, and really great with a selection of their sauces and dips.
The desserts – highlights
But these guys aren’t just about the savoury choices (and I mean there are a lot of savoury choices). Their desserts are pretty delish too.

We tried a choice of waffles (Dream Oreo, Heavenly Lotus, Kinder Dream Waffle, Salted Caramel Waffle), and I love that they do a VIP tray so you can get each flavour and topping in one big tray. We always go for that for a bit of variety – they are all soooo good, but my favourite is the double chocolate one! And I really like how they serve them here – they are smaller, rounder waffles – I think they are a lot more airy and fluffy than what you’d expect. Really nice, both taste and texture wise.

And on our most recent visit we also tried their new menu item – waffle bites. I always say that I am not really a dessert person (and I get mocked for it because I usually will have a dessert), but these are UNREAL. I think I left a little bit for Ryan to try but I could have singlehandedly eaten them all, they were stunning. Little fluffy pillows covered in chocolate, strawberries, with cream on the side. It is absolutely my kind of a dessert and I loved it. Next time we’re back (which I am sure won’t be too long) I will be getting these again. And will order 2 portions so that I can have one all to myself, ha! Worth every single calorie.

The drinks
They also have a fab selection of drinks – I am obsessed with the strawberry mojito and passionfruit mocktails – they both taste like summer! And I also love that they have Irn-Bru on draught – it’s the small things, right? I don’t know how, but it tastes even better than the bottled stuff. Can’t be beaten!
The decor
You can’t go to Dream Burger and not notice the decor. The signature pink makes this place stand out, especially that it is done in such a nice way. It is picture perfect (don’t ask me how many photos I have taken here!) and super cozy too. Perfect for a catch-up with friends or a little date night. And even though the place has been open for over a year now, the decor is still super fresh, everything is always super tidy, and the place is very clean. It does make a difference because even if you’re just popping in for a quick burger, the place is inviting and has a nice vibe.
And a shoutout to the staff who always look after us so well. It is a great spot. If you haven’t been yet – you have got to give these guys a try! And if you have, I am sure I don’t need to convince you to go back, this place is worth all the hype.

Location:
Dream Burger is located at 90-92 Clayton Street, Newcastle Upon Tyne, NE1 5PG. The nearest metro station is Central, about a 6-minute walk.
Tips for visiting:
- You can get 10% off any pick-up order over £15. Sit-in and takeaway available.
- Come hungry. Their food is filling and portions are generous. And you can’t skip dessert because their waffles and waffle bites are seriously good!
- Double up on burgers for a value-for-money deal. I would also recommend going for the loaded box as it’s also great value – you get a lot of tasty food as part of this deal.
- The food here is great for sharing so I’d say try a few options to share.
- They are all about giving you as many options as possible; from choosing if you want a plain or a seeded bun, to the level of spice, and the crazy choice of loaded fries. So much choice but I don’t think you can make any wrong choices here. Food is top quality and super flavoursome.
- It’s right in the city centre so super convenient for a little shopping break.
Reviews
On Uber Eats, Dream Burger holds a rating of 4.3 out of 5 stars, with popular items like the Dream Classic Burger receiving high praise. Customers also commented a lot about how amazing the Angus burger is (don’t say I didn’t tell you!) and the best chicken wings, along with top-notch service and reasonable prices.
I would personally give them a 5/5 star review because every experience we have had here has been great and the food has always exceeded our expectations.
