Chilled Out Gelato, Unit 1 Featherbed Court, Seaham, Durham, SR7 7XR
If you’re someone who lives for desserts, then Chilled Out Gelato is the ultimate spot for you! We stumbled across this charming place entirely by accident, and we just couldn’t resist popping in.
We had dined earlier at their sister company Grill N Chill (read about our visit here) and discovered that dining there gets you a 10% discount at Chilled Out Gelato. So there was no way we weren’t giving it a try.

What we tried
The menu was packed with tempting options, so we went with not one, not two, but three different menu items!
- Milk Chocolate Cookie Dough
Hot cookie dough topped with two scoops of gelato, Lotus Biscoff drizzle, and Lotus biscuits. This dessert was the perfect warm and gooey treat – no wonder it’s a top seller here! Every bite was delicious and so moreish – it’s definitely a must-try.

- Waffle: Nuts About Waffle
I’m a big fan of nutty and chocolatey desserts, so the “Nuts About Waffle” was an easy pick for me. It’s loaded with Nutella, pistachios, hazelnuts, Snickers gelato, and Ferrero Rocher. Although it usually comes with pistachio gelato, I customised mine with Ferrero Rocher gelato instead (my absolute fave!). This dish was heaven on a plate.

- Signature Creation: Salted Toffee
We also tried one of their signature creations, featuring two scoops of gelato served in a waffle basket with sauce and toppings. The “Salted Toffee” option was a great shout – salted caramel and clotted cream toffee gelato, fudge pieces, and dulce de leche sauce. If you’re into toffee flavours, this dessert is calling your name. It was so moreish!

What we like about this place
If you haven’t visited Chilled Out Gelato yet, you’re seriously missing out. The desserts are absolutely divine, and the decor is super cute, adding to the overall experience.
We’re so glad we discovered this gem today, and it’s now firmly on our list of places to revisit. Next time we’re out for a seafront walk in the area, you can bet we’ll be stopping by again!
