Wings n More, 13A Percy Street, Newcastle upon Tyne, NE1 4PW
Wings n More has been a favourite for takeaway fans for a while now (us included – do you remember my churros review a while back? Because I am still thinking about theirchurros regularly), but they’ve recently stepped up their game with a brand-new dine-in venue, and it’s safe to say they’ve absolutely nailed it.

From finger-licking dishes to a welcoming space and their very own music playlist (yes, they actually have Wings n More playlist which is a must-listen – it was so entertaining and fun, and what a unique touch!), this place is a must-visit when in town.

More than just takeaway
Walking into their new spot, the first thing you notice is the friendly team and howclean everything is. The venue is laid-back, making it the perfect spot for a casual stop after a shopping trip to town, or on your way to watch a Newcastle game – they’re right next to thestadium, which makes it a perfect pit stop on the way to or from St James’ Park. It’s great to see how they’ve transformed from a grab-and-go setup into a proper dine-in venue.

The menu
The menu still focuses on their signature wings, but there’s so much more to explore. For me, this place has always been about their loaded fries and signature sauces – I adore their jalapeno loaded fries with loads of cheese sauce, which pairs perfectly with the jalapenos, and of course their churros. I am not a huge churros fan normally, but these are always crisp and not too greasy, with lovely toppings (no fake chocolate in sight!).

But I obviously can’t not mention the wings and tenders. They have a huge range of sauces, so you can make them as mild or as spicy as you want (a helpful heat-o-meter on the menu will make choosing the sauce much easier). And they are all so flavoursome; the lemon and herb one, in particular, is our go-to – you can smell it before the food even arrives. It’s addictive.

There really is something for every taste; if wings aren’t your thing, their burgers and sidesare just as tempting (‘more’ is in the name, and it definitely is reflected in the menu, there is a lot to try here besides the wings).
There’s something for everyone
We tried a mix of their signature flavours, including our favourite lemon pepper. Thewings and tenders were perfectly cooked—crispy on the outside, juicy on the inside. The batter on the tenders was unreal, as always. Think back to how good KFC was when we were kids – a bit like that but upgraded with a delicious flavourful sauce. Just gorgeous.
We also shared a portion of jalapeno loaded fries, which came smothered in cheese sauce andtangy, spicy jalapenos. Honestly, they’re worth the trip alone.
And if you’re more of a smash burger kind of person – their spicy bacon burger is the one, in my opinion. The signature sauce is what makes it a real standout.

And last but not least – their churros. Of course, we had to have some – the classic chocolate churros are always my go-to, but we were treated to a brand-new flavour – pistachio churros! Generously covered in milk chocolate and pistachio chocolate, they were moreish, and definitely an interesting twist on a classic churro topping. I hope they make it to the main menu very soon.

Drinks
Drinks-wise, they’ve upped their game too, with bubble tea available in cans (YUM!). You can also get all the usual drinks.
It is always so nice to see a business expand, and I hope this new shop becomes a success; it was certainly very busy when we visited, and the quality is consistent with what we came to expect fromWings n More.

Tips for visiting
- Go hungry: Trust me, you’ll want to try as much as possible. They have platter deals for 2 which will have you rolling out of the place. I couldn’t manage all the food and had the rest to take away (their loaded fries actually taste unreal heated up the next day – I will always leave some to have for breakfast, just too good!).
- Try the specials: Keep an eye on their limited-time flavours and combos, like the pistachio churros.
- It’s a great spot for a little pit stop when in town if you fancy something quick and delicious.
