If you’re looking for a relaxing getaway in a luxury, yet super friendly hotel in the North East of England, you need to continue reading this.

We stayed in one of their luxurious hideaway rooms, and it was absolutely gorgeous – beautifully decorated with a very comfy bed that made for the best night’s sleep.

We opted for the dinner and breakfast package, and the food did not disappoint. The portions were generous, and everything was freshly prepared and delicious. One standout feature was their pizza oven and open kitchen concept, where you can watch the chefs in action – it’s like dinner with a show, and definitely my kind of theatre!

I opted for crispy potato skins followed by classic fish and chips, while Ryan chose a tasty prawn salad and a freshly baked pizza. For dessert, we enjoyed in the richest sticky toffee pudding and the “dessert of the night,” which was an incredible twist on an apple pie – both were absolutely delicious!

The breakfast experience was another highlight, with a selection of continental options and a hot Northumberland breakfast menu, including à la carte choices. The quality of the food was top-notch, and every little thing was simply delicious.

We also took some time to explore the beautiful hotel grounds, the indoor pool, and, of course, made sure to check out the bar for a drink before our evening meal.

The place feels like you’re in the middle of a remote countryside, yet there’s definitely a bustle to the venue, with the bar and restaurant lively with locals and hotel guests, making for a lovely Saturday night.
If you’re searching for the perfect relaxing weekend getaway, Derwent Manor Hotel is ideal. Whether it’s the food (which was perfect in every aspect – taste as well as generous portion sizes), facilities (gorgeously decorated and well maintained), or simply the atmosphere (both super relaxing, with a lively vibe in the restaurant and bar areas), we had the most chilled weekend and highly recommend it for your next North East escape!
