Town’s newest, hottest restaurant & bar

Manahatta is a fairly new addition to the bar scene in Newcastle but it’s already one of our favourite spots in town.

We come here a lot and have tried their bottomless brunch twice (which I think is one of the best in town), New Year’s Eve celebrations, and often pop in for a casual night out, which I think is a testament to what we think about this place.

What’s so special about Manahatta

  • The place is beautiful – I am biased because I adore art deco style and this place is full of little art deco elements.
  • They nail their bottomless; we had a bottomless brunch (party) here twice and everything was absolutely perfect. The food was 10/10. The drinks were great.
  • The atmosphere is always fun. The music is something that always keeps me intrigued because they do play a very eclectic mix of songs and genres. I am not sure whether this was a joke but a Christmas song even sneaked in as we enjoyed our cocktails (late summer) which was quite funny.

Must try drinks at Manahatta

  • Bloody Mary is my number one go to and Manahatta’s is one of the best I’ve ever had! No exaggeration! I get one every time we visit (one time we had so many they ran out of tomato juice…)
  • I love their margaritas (not always on the menu but they will make it if you ask)
  • A cocktail flight which included Breakfast at Tiffany’s, French Peartini, and Goldstar Martini. They are all delicious and actually quite strong. The green one – which I think is Goldstar Martini – was my favourite.

The food at Manahatta

We really love their small plates – they’re like tapas dishes and perfect to share.
I’d recommend:

  • Korean bao buns
  • Cauliflower bites
  • Neon salmon tacos
  • Classic nachos
  • Steak frites
  • Send noods (I had the veggie option)

I kid you not when I say this is one of the best bars in town!
