Why everyone’s talking about Friez & Burgz
Friez&Burgz is a popular spot and now we have visited and tried it for ourselves, I can see why.

Friez & Burgz food guide – our menu highlights
Halloumi fries
In the name of research we tried a few different items, and I can report that everything we had was pretty delicious, and the portion sizes were very good – I was stuffed after my halloumi fries (or should I say friez?)

The week’s special
We also went for the week’s special which was a peppercorn burger with a side of spicy filets and fries. It’s pretty much a steak in a form of a burger with a perfect amount of peppery kick; really elegant in flavour but without the steak price!

The original burger
We also tried the original burger with addition of pastrami which I found quite an interesting, and not very common, addition to a burger. An absolute hit and super delish; the twist added by pastrami was something else. So just another reason to try this place.

Desserts
For dessert, we went for the Biscoff, and the strawberry cheesecake, and both were actually divine. The Biscoff dessert was rich and creamy, while the strawberry one was fresh and sweet with a lovely tanginess which I didn’t expect. I don’t normally finish my desserts but the tanginess of it made it so light and easy to eat that somehow I managed, ha!

Is Friez & Burgz worth the hype?
I now fully understand and can now join in on the hype of this place.
Great food, great service – we’ll be back for sure (including Loui, who is also a fan!)
And they have 3 locations in the North East so there’s one near you!

You’ll find Friez & Burgz at 245 Shields Rd, Newcastle Upon Tyne NE6 1DQ.
They also have branches in Forest Hall, Whitley Bay, Byker.

Tips for visiting
- There is some limited seating at the Byker branch, so probably best to order for a collection. It was a nice day so we sat outside. There are more seating options at other branches
- Weekly specials – there is always something new to try
- Customise your burgers by adding extra toppings; the options are great and it’s so worth it
