Holland and Barrett, Unit E2-E3 Blackett Bridge, Eldon Square Shopping Centre, Newcastle, NE1 7XJ
Last week we visited the new Holland and Barrett store in Eldon Square to shop some of their products from their new Food That Loves You Back campaign and TriActive sports range.
Holland and Barrett have been my go-to for vitamins and supplements for years, but I was genuinely surprised to learn they’ve released around 800 new products in the past couple of years.
What we picked up
- Skincare; they stock some of the kindest to skin products that I use all the time like Weleda and Super Facialist.
- Protein snacks (our usual go to Grenade and Nakd protein bars, as well as Holland and Barrett’s own flapjacks—they’re seriously good and we always get them for our hikes! Flapjacks taste the best halfway through your hike, I am sure that’s scientifically proven, ha!)

- TriActive protein porridge and pre-workout from their own Holland and Barrett range. I’ve not tried these products before, so I am very keen to see what they are like. They were recommended to us so I am quite excited, especially for the porridge.

- Loads of snacks and cooking ingredients from their food cupboard and healthier snacking selection. I can’t wait to try the mushroom jerky, edamame hummus, as well as the pea crisps. I am really impressed with the cupboard staple choices—the variety is genuinely impressive. Especially if you love snacking as much as I do.
- Some Perfect Ted matcha pods—if you drink matcha, you know it is such a faff to make it, so I just can’t wait to try making it in our coffee machine! This will be such a time saver in the mornings.

And that’s just some of the products we picked up—there is just soooo much to choose from.
Special Offer
If you’re planning a visit, don’t forget to go in February and use the Holland and Barrett discount code NEWCASTLE20 at the till for 20% off your shop. This includes everything in-store—even their popular 3 for 1 deals!

Why we enjoyed our visit
Shopping here was such a relaxed experience, knowing that whatever we chose was good for us.
The store is brand new, and the layout makes it so easy to browse the huge range of products available. Skincare, supplements, healthy snacks, or pantry staples—whatever you need—they’ve got you covered. And if you’re anything like me – you’ll leave with way more than what you went in for, but it is all good stuff so no guilty feeling here!

Tips for Visiting
- There is a lot of choice—allow some time for browsing to explore all the different ranges. I found a lot of things I didn’t even know I needed! And I’m super excited to try it all.
- Healthy snacks—this place is great for picking up snacks that are both delicious and nutritious. And so many high-protein options, if you’re also into the gym or just want to increase your protein intake.
- Check out their labels. What I found fascinating (I am honestly so impressed by this, no exaggeration) some of their ranges actually have a number of different fruit and veggies that’s included in the product on the label. We all should be aiming for 30 different fruits and veggies a week, and having this on the label really is such a fantastic idea. I am not a calorie counter or a dieter, but I do aim to have as many different fruits and vegetables in my diet so this really is a game changer.
- Staff are lovely and have knowledge about the products they sell, so if you’re not sure what to go for (supplements in particular can be a minefield, for me at least), they’ll be happy to advise.
Best for: healthy food, healthy snacks, wellness, Newcastle
