Breeze Lounge, Blyth Seafront, Blyth, NE24 3HJ
Breeze Lounge is a place we have discovered fairly recently, but despite the fact it is a little drive away, we have visited a few times already; most recently for their autumn/winter menu launch.
Why we love Breeze Lounge
The place is right on the seafront, so you couldn’t really get a better location. But what keeps us coming back is the delicious food and a very unique atmosphere.
It’s a perfect all-rounder – they do breakfast, lunch and evening menu including cocktails, so whatever time or occasion you go for, they have you covered. From just popping in for a coffee and a cake after a seafront walk, a lunch catching up with friends, or a little date night in the evening – which is what we did.
They even have a band on some nights, which I think is really cool.
The place is lovely, and we felt so welcomed from the moment we walked in – the staff are super friendly, it absolutely makes the experience really special! I had actually forgotten how lovely the team at the Breeze Lounge are since our last visit, but as soon as we walked in, I remembered just how inviting this place is. It is hard to put into words, but when you go – you will see exactly what I mean.
I always enjoy reading their menu because they have so many appetising choices phrased in a very poetic way – which I am here for.
Highlights from our spring/summer visits
• Crabtastic creation – potted crab meat with charred bloomer.
• Cauliflower carnival – Cauliflower was so flavoursome and crispy, a really tasty dish with a delightful texture.

• Sizzling savoury burger looked mouth-wateringly good, and I hear it was just that. Scroll through to see the melted cheese!
• My choice of wild mushroom risotto was the absolute highlight and I’ve never been happier with my menu choice!

The texture was perfect, the taste was beautiful – the umami flavour from the mushrooms, truffle oil, and parmesan was addictive and do I need to mention the presentation. A dish beautiful in appearance and flavour makes me so so so happy!
• The side of garlic bread was a perfect addition to the meal.
Most recent visit: autumn/winter menu highlights
• Sweet and spicy king prawns – pan fried with harissa, garlic and chilli. It was gorgeous. The prawns were huge and super tasty. Even though I am not a fan of sweet dishes, I opted for this because I love harissa, and it was such a good choice. It was not overpoweringly sweet or hot, it was perfectly balanced and I can’t tell you how delicious and juicy the prawns were.

• Sticky chicken with sweet bbq sauce served with a chilli jam – this was an elevated chicken dish, as wholesome as you can imagine and a total winter warmer.

• Herb crusted cod loin with new potatoes and buttered greens. I really, really wanted to go for the risotto again as they still have it on the menu (literally the nicest risotto I have ever had), but in the name of research I opted for the cod, and I was not disappointed. It was divine; soft and you could tell it was super fresh. The crust of herbs on top was so flavoursome, bringing a huge amount of flavour to the dish without overpowering the fish. It was a 10/10!

• Slow cooked beef with fondant potato, greens with a choice of peppercorn or red wine sauce (Ryan went for the peppercorn sauce). I don’t think there is any other word to describe this dish other than absolutely PERFECT.

It smelt insane, and it was the softest piece of beef I have ever seen. I have seen some reviews before we went talking about how amazing this dish is, but reading about it doesn’t make it any justice – it is something you have to try for yourself. It is moreish, delicious, hearty, beautifully presented, and an absolutely perfect item on an autumn/winter menu. Compliments to the chef; this dish is outstanding, absolutely MasterChef worthy in my opinion.

- Chocolate brownie here is everything you want in a dessert; rich, gooey, and perfectly indulgent. It’s served warm with a scoop of velvety ice cream and a generous drizzle of chocolate sauce that ties it all together. It’s one of those desserts that’s impossible to share (trust me, you won’t want to). If you’re a chocolate lover, this brownie is an absolute must-try.

- Seasonal fruit crumble is as delicious and comforting as it is nostalgic. But in a typical Breeze Lounge style, it has been elevated by the chef to a finer dessert, and the addition of dried raspberries is a lovely surprise that makes the dessert something a little more special than your typical crumble. It is delicious and beautifully presented, with a generous serving of custard that you pour yourself (which I love as a bit of food theatre).
Delicious drinks
Their drinks are also something that I really look forward to when we plan a visit. The watermelon mocktail from their summer menu was just summer in a glass – delightful and so refreshing, and was one of the nicest watermelon drinks I have had in a long, long time. This time I have tried their mango crush, and it was also delicious.
Dog-friendly venue
And a great thing about the Breeze Lounge is that they’re dog friendly too – Loui enjoys the place as much as we do.
