Offshore 44: Peach Melba. Little more intense in flavour and on a sweeter side

By Ania Askwith

As a self-confessed cocktail superfan, I couldnโ€™t resist a sneak peek of Newcastle Cocktail Week last Friday, before it officially starts on 27th September.

Hereโ€™s some of the incredible cocktails I enjoyed:

โ€ข Gusto: Peach and Apricot Sour. Very subtle flavours, super well balanced and easy to drink.

โ€ข Newcastle Cavavin: Fire and Ice Fizz which you can make less or more fiery (I loved that bit),  paired with delicious serving of cheese, olives, crackers, and crisps. Needless to say, it was one of my favourite stops!

โ€ข Liberty House: Tropical Solero. This actually tastes just like the OG Solero. Sweet and fruity.

โ€ข Chaophraya: Lychee Passion Fruit Martini. These were soooo good, we had to order them twice! Along with crackers and a chili dip, I could sip them all night.

It’s such a fun initiative!

Once you get your wristband, you can enjoy ยฃ5 cocktails across many of Newcastle venues, including:

  • 3SIXTY Champagne Bar
  • Above
  • Aveika
  • Banyan
  • Be At One Blackfriars
  • Castro’s
  • Central Oven & Shaker
  • Chaophraya

But it isnโ€™t just the signature cocktails for ยฃ5 that got me excited. You can get discounted food in some of those venues too, which is always a huge selling point for me! Thereโ€™s only one thing better than delicious cocktails, and thatโ€™s delicious cocktails paired with some snacks.

And if youโ€™re wondering if it is a good deal – you actually get unlimited use of your wristband throughout 10 days so if youโ€™re a cocktail fan like me, it is a no brainer!

Whatโ€™s even better, you get to support local venues โ€“ whether it is your favourite, go-to bars, or the new kids on the block (like Newcastle Cavavin which has just recently opened and we got to try it โ€“ and are already planning our next trip).

With such a huge selection of venues from very casual to super bouji, thereโ€™s something for everyone.

Wristbands are running low, so grab yours from the official Newcastle Cocktail Week website here (Newcastle Cocktail Week) for ยฃ5 cocktails across 50+ venues from 27th September to 6th October!

Cheers!
